A man was wounded in a shooting in the parking lot of a Garden Grove supermarket on Tuesday evening, Sept. 12, and authorities have been combing the area for the shooter.
Gunfire was reported around 7 p.m. at a Vons parking lot at the corner of Haster Street and Chapman Avenue, Garden Grove Police Sgt. Erick Leyva said in an interview with freelance news videographer OnScene.TV. When officers arrived, a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a van.
The victim was taken to a hospital; information on his condition was not immediately available.
The shooter fled the area and authorities were continuing their search into the night. A description of the shooter was not immediately available.
A portion of the Vons parking lot remained closed off Tuesday night while police continued their investigation, though the store remained open for shoppers, Leyva said.
