Laguna Beach authorities have arrested a suspect in the death of a San Clemente woman that sent ripples through the community, the police department announced on Wednesday evening.
Laguna Beach detectives, as well as officers from the Newport Beach Police Department and the Anaheim Police Department, arrested 26-year-old Dino Rojas-Moreno on suspicion of murder in Laguna Beach. It’s unclear where Rojas-Moreno is from or if he has any connection to the victim, Tatum Goodwin.
Rojas-Morenos was being held on $1 million bail. Detectives have determined that Goodwin’s death was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community, a police statement said.
Goodwin, a 27-year-old from San Clemente, worked at a local restaurant. Her body was found behind a building on Sunday. A group of community members gathered Wednesday evening in Laguna Beach to honor Goodwin’s life.
