In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the East Anaheim branch library is offering an opportunity to participate in making a mini-sarape weaving craft from 1 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the branch.
Additionally, the branch will also feature a special dance performance by Ballet a Folklorico Las Estrellas at 1 p.m. on Sept. 30. Crafts featured throughout September will include weave bowls, tiled mirrors and the sarape weaving will also be available to make following the performance. Also, a special “Alice in Wonderland” program is planned at 11 a.m. on Oct. 7 at the branch. All kids are welcome to attend.
Helping military families with homes
The ninth annual Patriots and Paws car show fundraising event will be 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Canyon RV Park, 24001 Santa Ana Canyon Road. The community is invited.
Among the day’s activities will be vehicle displays, live music, vendors, opportunity drawings and great food from Coaches Pit BBQ and Marine Riders available for purchase.
Parking is $10 per carload. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Patriots and Paws and its commitment to providing home furnishing items for newly acquired residences of Veterans, active military, reserves and their families as well as rescue companionship animals to help support the transitioning process from military to civilian life.

Recently, members of the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills brought donations of household items for the Patriots and Paws organization during their Sept. 11 general meeting.
These items consisted of linens, bathroom and kitchen items to support the group’s mission. Joy Lais, 1st vice president, philanthropy, had coordinated the community service project.
