A third-alarm fire at a dry cleaning business near the Asian Garden Mall in Westminster on Saturday, Nov. 11 caused an estimated $1.5 million worth of damage.
Around 2:50 p.m, firefighters responded to the fire at a middle unit in an industrial strip center on the 1500 block of West State Street, where the fire had gone through the roof, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg Barta told freelance news videographer OC Hawk.
Firefighters from Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Anaheim assisted in limiting the damage from the fire to the single unit.
The owner of the business, Tu Nguyen, said several workers were inside when the fire began at the back of the building but had managed to escape without injuries. The blaze also destroyed three vehicles parked behind the building.
A firefighter battling the fire suffered a “medical incident” and was transported to a hospital, Barta said. No further details about what happened to the firefighter were given.
The fire caused $1 million to the structure and $500,000 worth of damage to its contents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
