Three men were arrested on suspicion of attempting to rob a jewelry store in Temecula on Sunday, with at least one suspect still being sought after leading deputies on a pursuit from Riverside County to Los Angeles County.
Around 2:40 p.m., at least four people attempted to rob the store near Winchester and Margarita roads, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Gunshots were reported by a 911 caller though it was not immediately clear who fired the shots, whether the suspects were armed or if anyone was injured.
Three suspects were caught before they could carry out the robbery, an email from the Sheriff’s Department’s media information bureau said.
At least one person fled in a vehicle and led authorities on a pursuit along the 215 Freeway to the 91 Freeway across Orange County and into Los Angeles County before the pursuit was eventually terminated in Compton.
