On Tuesday, the Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 27-year-old San Clemente resident Tatum Lee Goodwin.
Goodwin’s cause of death is still under investigation, but detectives “found the scene to be suspicious” and are investigating the death as a homicide, according to police. Whether or not Goodwin died at the scene or if her body was placed there is also under investigation.
A GoFundMe has been organized by Marcos Heredia, who said that Goodwin worked at Carmelita’s, a local restaurant he owns. Nearly $18,000 has already been raised through the page, which seeks funds for Goodwin’s memorial service and help with creating a memorial in the city “so everyone in town never forgets about our sweet friend Tatum.”
Anyone with information on the case was asked to call Detective Tanner Flagstad at 949-497-0369. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS or by using the website, occrimestoppers.org
