Disneyland is adding a second half-marathon to the runDisney calendar next year that will see runners dashing through the Anaheim theme parks — and should send non-runners sprinting to anyplace other than the Fastest Place on Earth.
The inaugural Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend will be held on Sept. 5-8 in 2024 as part of the newly-announced annual race schedule for the Disneyland and Disney World resorts, according to runDisney.
The Halloween-themed four-day event includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K, kids races and yoga. Coveted Disney-designed medals are awarded to racers and the top prize goes to challenge runners who compete in multiple races during the weekend.
The race through Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and the surrounding streets of Anaheim will feature Halloween-themed character encounters and on-course entertainment.

The wildly popular half marathons are some of the biggest parties of the year for runDisney fans, according to Theme Park Insider.
“If you are not running, or planning to accompany a runner to one of these events, these will be weeks to avoid at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts if you don’t want to deal with wall-to-wall crowds,” according to Theme Park Insider.

The new Halloween-themed race joins the original Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend that will be held on Jan. 11-14 in 2024 and Jan. 30 through Feb. 2 in 2025.
Registration for the 2025 Disneyland Half Marathon doesn’t open until June 2024.
The Walt Disney World resort in Florida will host four races during the 2024-25 runDisney season.
