It’s official, October is next week and we’re speeding right into Halloween.
While some retail stores are already pushing the creepy decorations aside to make room for Christmas stuff — HOW DARE THEY — there’s still plenty of time to get into the spirit of the season. Though events seem to kick off earlier and earlier each year, there are several monthlong events starting up this weekend and running through Oct. 31 and beyond.
From good old-fashioned Harvest Festival family-fun, haunted car washes and thrilling theatrical productions to pop-up horror-themed bars and experiences so immersive and scary that you have to sign a waiver to participate, there’s really something for every level of Halloween-lover this year. 🕸️ Review: Knott’s Scary Farm’s 50th season kicks off in Buena Park
Theme parks reporter Brady MacDonald went to opening night of Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park last week. The event, which runs select evenings through Oct. 31, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with 10 mazes, five scare zones and four live shows. Here’s what it was like on opening day.
