The former Fashion Island Hotel has completed its property flip, rebranded and newly opened as Pendry Newport Beach.
The 295-room hotel debuted Wednesday, Sept. 27 under the management of Pendry Hotels & Resorts. It’s the eighth Pendry property in the firm’s hospitality portfolio.
Irvine Co. sold the pandemic-shuttered hotel to Eagle Four Partners in February 2022. Terms were not disclosed.
“As local owners, we are thrilled to be the new stewards of the former Fashion Island Hotel at the heart of Newport Beach. We are dedicated to continuously investing in Newport Beach and elevating the hospitality experience of our neighbors and guests,” Kevin Martin of Eagle Four Partners said at the time.
The 14-story hotel, just steps from the Fashion Island shopping center, boasts 114 suites overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Newport Harbor or Back Bay.
Dining options include the fine dining SET Steak & Sushi by Clique Hospitality. There’s also The Pub, described as “a casual hideaway” offering pub fare and European-style beers. The restaurant Viamara is available at the members-only Elwood Club. The restaurant, offering lunch and dinner, will feature a menu with an Italian emphasis using produce and locally sourced fish and meat.
Other amenities include a spa, fitness center, the Tree Shack Bar & Grill by the hotel pool, a kid’s club for children ages 5-12, and 58,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
Room rates start at roughly $400 nightly.
