The 7th annual Ohana Festival is finally here and it’s going to be a big three-day weekend down at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point.
The Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder-curated fest is set to include headlining performances from The Killers on Friday, Sept. 29; Eddie Vedder & Co. on Saturday, Sept. 30; and it all wraps up with the Foo Fighters on Sunday, Oct. 1.

I also caught up with Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament to talk about his new band, Deaf Charlie, which he formed with ex-Fitz and The Tantrums drummer John Wicks. the pair will make their live debut at Ohana on the Tiki Stage on Oct. 1. Read more from Ament about Ohana and Deaf Charlie here.
On top of all of the live music, The Cove area of Ohana houses elaborate art displays and the Storytellers Stage, where there will be dozens of environmentalists, conservationists, professional surfers and more discussing important environmental issues and raising money for various local causes.
Beach reporter Laylan Connelly spoke to several of the Storytellers Stage participants about their various organizations and why the Ohana Festival is the perfect place to share their experiences. Read Laylan’s full story here.
