Disneyland has brought back the signature flamethrower effects for some — but not all — nighttime spectaculars extinguished after a stunning technical failure that led to the “Fantasmic” dragon bursting into a towering inferno.
Fire effects have returned to the “World of Color — One” water show at Disney California Adventure, but not to the “Halloween Screams” fireworks show at Disneyland.
Fire effects will return on a show-by-show basis to nighttime spectaculars, according to Disneyland officials.

Video posted to WDW News Today shows the triumphant return of the fire effects to “World of Color” at DCA. Sometimes Castles vloggers posted side-by-side videos to TikTok of “Halloween Screams” with flamethrowers in 2022 and without fire effects in 2023.
Disneyland temporarily suspended fire effects in “World of Color” and the “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks show out of an abundance of caution following the “Fantasmic” prop fire in April.
The towering fire effects are a highlight of the “World of Color” water show on Paradise Bay while Disneyland fireworks shows feature skyward flamethrower-like effects on the Fantasyland rooftops around Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Isopar cannons are capable of shooting 50-foot flames into air during the pyrotechnics and water shows.
“Fantasmic” is not scheduled to return to Disneyland until spring 2024.
