Forget about being scared to walk the plank! These pirates have something far worse in mind. They’re now teaming up with the undead and instead of searching for treasure, they’re out for blood.
Vampires and pirates are coming together this spooky season at Buena Park’s popular Pirates Dinner Adventure theater as it transforms into a high-seas Halloween adventure dubbed “Vampirates: Undead Men Tell No Tales.”
“It’s a really interactive show. You’ll be really invested and cheering on your pirates,” said show manager Matt Riggle.
The Halloween show launches on Saturday, Sept. 16 and runs on select evenings through Tuesday, Oct. 31. It includes a dinner and a performance made up of an interactive stunt show with music, acrobatics and a storyline created with horror in mind.
The pirate tale takes place in the 1800s when evil Captain Sebastian, the Vampirate King, rises from Davey Jones’ locker and climbs aboard the Black Ship to sails the evil seas.
“He rises on Halloween night to scare the pants out of everyone who dares to sail on the ocean,” Riggle said.
This time, Captain Sebastian will attempt a spell that will free himself from the locker for good. But there is hope as a brave monster hunter named Kate is up to challenge the evil captain and his horde of vampiric buccaneers.
During the approximately 90-minute show, guests will be seated in different colored sections of the venue so they can all cheer on a different pirate.
The cast includes the orange pirate, Andre, who has never been defeated in combat, as well as the blue pirate, who is the son of evil Captain Sebastian. Joining them in battle is the yellow pirate, Antonio, the greatest unliving swordsman in the world and, of course, the feared Captain himself.
Guests can even get in on the fun by dressing up like vampire pirates since the show includes a costume contests on the weekends.
