PITCHING REPORT: Left-hander Julio Urias pitched four scoreless innings against the White Sox. He allowed three singles and struck out one. Urias’ next outing will be for Team Mexico against Colombia on Saturday in the World Baseball Classic. … Right-hander Andre Jackson struck out three and gave up two hits in two scoreless innings.
HITTING REPORT: Betts led off the bottom of the first inning with his solo home run. He has two hits in nine at-bats this spring, both of them home runs. … Freeman drove in two runs with his third home run of the spring. He leads the team with seven RBI. … James Outman had a triple off the center field wall. He is 6 for 13 this spring. … Austin Barnes had two singles and drove in a run. … Max Muncy had a double and Devin Mann two.
DEFENSE REPORT: Betts played second base in Sunday’s game. He is expected to play there some for Team USA in the WBC. He made a diving stop to his left on a hard ground ball in the fourth inning and spun to get a force out at second base. … A throwing error by third baseman Yonny Hernandez helped fuel a four-run seventh inning by the White Sox.
