PITCHING REPORT: Bobby Miller was hurt by poor defense behind him (including a pop-up that fell in for a hit between shortstop Chris Taylor and second baseman Gavin Lux). He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk in 3⅓ innings. … Justin Wilson pitched another scoreless inning. Counting one inning that was later erased by rain, Wilson has struck out 11 of the 22 batters he has faced since signing a minor-league deal with the Dodgers this spring.
DEFENSE REPORT: Lux was charged with an error in the first inning when he fielded a ground ball cleanly but his throw pulled first baseman Kevin Padlo off the base. The error led to the Guardians’ first run. … Minor-league prospect Thayron Liranzo was charged with an error at first base when he tripped over the base.
