THE GAME: In his first Cactus League start this spring, Clayton Kershaw gave up two home runs in the first three innings but the Dodgers rallied to beat the Angels, 6-5, on a walk-off walk on Friday afternoon at Camelback Ranch.
PITCHING REPORT: Kershaw gave up a home run to Taylor Ward on his second pitch of the game then gave up another first-inning run on three singles. Kevin Padlo took Kershaw deep for another run in the third inning. … Right-hander Andre Jackson followed Kershaw with three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out two.
HITTING REPORT: Jorbit Vivas broke a tie with a two-out, two-run single in the eighth inning. The Dodgers couldn’t hold the lead in the ninth inning, though. Eddys Leonard drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to drive in the winning run. … Miguel Vargas had his second double in as many games since being cleared to swing the bat. … Hunter Feduccia had a double and a two-run single. He is 4 for 9 (.444) with seven RBIs this spring. … James Outman had an RBI single and is 7 for 18 (.389) this spring. … After starting 1 for 15, J.D. Martinez has hits in each of his past two games, both singles.
DEFENSE REPORT: Top catching prospect Diego Cartaya threw out Livan Soto on a stolen base attempt in the seventh inning after setting up with one knee on the ground.
