There are seven candidates vying to be the next Los Angeles Councilmember for District 2, replacing the outgoing Paul Krekorian. Unless the March 5 primary is won by an outright majority of votes, the two top vote getters will face off in the Fall. The eventual winner will join a council that many believe is the single most powerful city council in the United States.
