Here is a sampling of things to do in the San Fernando Valley and the greater Los Angeles area.

Music Center’s Dance DTLA: Have fun learning new dance steps when expert dance instructors provide dance lessons and DJs spin the tunes, 7-11 p.m. on Fridays, through Aug. 16. Schedule: Salsa, June 28; Reggaeton, July 12;  Colombian Cumbia, July 19; Line Dance, July 26; Samba, Aug. 2; Hip-Hop, Aug. 9; Disco, Aug. 16. Lessons are free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Check the website for instructors and DJs. Dances are subject to change. Check the website for parking or taking the Metro. Independence Day Celebration – International Printing Museum: The museum will have printing press demonstrations, interactive tours and an opportunity to print your own copy of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights or other founding documents, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 29. Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Betsy Ross (costumed re-enactors) tell stories about their roles in the founding of the United States of America, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. (plus Benjamin Franklin plays his glass armonica musical instrument during his segment; in the museum’s Heritage Theater). Admission $15; $12 seniors and students; free for ages 3 and younger (purchase in advance; also, due to limited seating in the theater, make a reservation for either 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. performance when you purchase admission to the museum). San Fernando Valley Pride March and Block Party: State Sen. Caroline Menjivar co-presents the event, with Somos Familia Valle, that begins with a rally 11 a.m. June 29 at the corner of Gault Street and Van Nuys Boulevard, Van Nuys.
