Here is a sampling of things to do in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area, June 15-22.

Cirque Italia: A treasure map and pirates are part of the “Water Circus” story, opens 7:30 p.m. June 15. Prism Comics’ Q Con – A LGBTQ+ Comic Convention: Meet-and-greet creators from indie comics and major publications, get autographs and sketches and attend panel discussions, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 17. Cosplay of favorite comics characters encouraged; costume contest at 3:39 p.m. The event is family-friendly and free to attend; register for the free tickets on the website or at the door. Juneteenth Celebration in Oxnard: The event with art, dance and musical performances and food, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 17. Comedian Denise Carter is the mistress of ceremonies.
