Following a rowdy set at the iHeartRadio and ALT 98.7/FM ALTer Ego fest on Jan. 13 at Honda Center in Anaheim, Canadian rock band Sum 41 announced the details for its farewell jaunt dubbed Tour Of The Setting Sum.
The outing comes to YouTube Theater in Inglewood on Oct. 3. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at Ticketmaster.com. Citicard members have access to presale tickets beginning Jan. 16 at citientertainment.com.
While the tour is a long goodbye, the seasoned rockers will also be out in support of their forthcoming final record, “Heaven :x: Hell,” which is due out on March 29. This album promises a pairing of a pop-punk “Heaven” side with a more heavy metal-infused “Hell.” The band will be accompanied by Los Angeles-based ska-punk act, The Interrupters, for the North American leg of the tour.
Sum 41 treated fans at the ALTer Ego fest to hits like “In Too Deep,” “The Hell Song,” “Still Waiting” and “Fat Lip.” Lead singer Deryck Whibley acknowledged the breakup during the show as he took a moment to address the audience and suggested, “this this could potentially be the last time you see us together.”
The Grammy-nominated punk rockers confirmed its breakup in 2023, marking the end of a 27-year journey as a band. While the specific reason for the split remains unknown, Sum 41 will be on the road for most of 2024.
