International pop icon Shakira has officially gone from arena act to stadium star.
Last week, Shakira announced that her North American tour dates would be canceled to upgrade her tour from arenas to stadiums, citing an overwhelming demand for tickets. Southern California dates canceled for the new Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour included the kickoff dates at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on Nov. 1 and 2 and the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Nov. 9.
Shakira will now perform only one date in Southern California at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood on Friday, June 20. Fans can register for an artist presale now through Tuesday, October 22, at 8:59 p.m. at Shakira.com for access to tickets. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general sale beginning on Friday, Oct. 25, at noon.
Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets through the Citi Entertainment program from Wednesday, Oct. 23, at noon until Thursday, Oct. 24, at 11:59. For complete presale details, visit citientertainment.com.
The Colombian pop star announced her first tour since 2018 at a surprise performance with Argentine hitmaker and producer Bizarrap at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in April. She rose from a podium during the festival performance with a screen reading, “La Loba Se Viene” (“The She-Wolf is coming”).
The two artists delivered an electrifying performance of their collaboration “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” a diss track aimed at Shakira’s ex-partner, footballer Gerard Piqué. The song marked a significant return for Shakira, who hadn’t released an album since “El Dorado” in 2017. It became Bizarrap’s first Top 10 single, Shakira’s fifth, and her first all-Spanish track on the US Billboard Hot 100 since “Beautiful Liar” with Beyoncé.
Fans can expect a performance that draws from her latest release, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” and other hits from her extensive catalog.
