Redondo Beach has a new skate park — and it’s right over the water.
The city cut the ribbon on its new Pier Skate Park Saturday, Oct. 21, at 500 Fisherman’s Wharf, Parcel 10.
Mayor Bill Brand and Redondo Beach resident David Bernier started pushing for the skate park seven years ago.
The park takes up most of the 10,000 square-foot lot, with quarter-pipes, rails, ledges and a table top that can be used as a stage.
E.T. Surfboard in Hermosa Beach gave out free stuff at the grand opening event.
