Almost Acoustic Christmas, originally known as the KROQ Christmas Bash and established in 1989, marked its 2022 edition at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. The event featured Imagine Dragons, The Black Keys, Death Cab For Cutie, Jimmy Eat World, Yungblud, Måneskin, The Interrupters, and Wet Leg. While the rock group Yeah Yeah Yeahs were scheduled to perform, a last-minute cancelation was made due to guitarist Nick Zinner getting pneumonia, with Southern California punk band Social Distortion stepping in as replacements.
Each year, the station strives to donate a portion of the proceeds to local charities. This year, the efforts will benefit Para Los Niños and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center, both of which are Los Angeles-based charitable organizations.
