A La Verne dog recuperating from a mountain lion attack over the weekend will have to remain at home for 30 days, an official said.
Anytime there’s an interaction between wildlife and dogs, the dog has to be quarantined as a precaution, according to Danny Pena, animal control supervisor at the Inland Valley Humane Society and SPCA. Rabies is a possibility, he added.
The Humane Society found out about the Saturday night attack from a news report, Pena said. They contacted the owner and took a report Tuesday. They also notified the county health department, he said.
Pena couldn’t release specific details such as the location but the closest cross streets are Golden Hills Road and Wheeler Avenue.

Holly underwent surgery.
California Fish and Wildlife officials have seen the video, but there is no follow up investigation at this point, department spokesman Tim Daly said.
“We asked people to notify us of incidents like this through our wildlife incident reporting website. There are times when we follow up with homeowners with questions after they fill out that form. And of course, we encourage people to keep a close eye on their pets and small…
