Los Angeles police were investigating more attacks on stores in the western San Fernando Valley after several businesses with shattered windows were discovered early on Monday, Jan. 8.
At least four stores had their windows smashed near the 6800 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard early at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday.
The stores that could be seen with damage included an In-N-Out, a Big O tire shop and a Sherwin-Williams Paint store.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating attacks on at least two of those businesses.
Rocks with writing on them could be seen inside the stores that were targeted Monday.
The discovery of the damage to the Canoga Park businesses followed a series of similar attacks on stores in nearby Woodland Hills on Saturday, Jan. 6.
LAPD was investigating at least three attacks along a stretch of Victory Boulevard at around 8 a.m.
At least two of the store owners targeted Saturday are Jewish, and had mezuzahs displayed outside. Mezuzahs are small cases containing Torah verses affixed to the doorways of many Jewish homes and businesses.
An LAPD spokesman said those attacks were being investigated as possible hate crimes.
The suspect in the Woodland Hills attacks also used rocks inscribed with messages on them to smash through the store windows, according to KTLA.
LAPD has not said whether they believe the incidents are connected, however.
