Authorities sought the public’s help Friday in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man in a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting in the Porter Ranch area.

The Los Angeles Police Department was seeking any potential witnesses who were in the area of Braemore Road between Tampa Avenue and Reseda Boulevard between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 12:55 a.m. Wednesday.

Someone in the area “may have seen any confrontations between two white vehicles, one parked and one driving by,” according to a police statement.

The victim, identified Friday as Gavin Orozco-Unzueta of Sylmar, died at a hospital. He was a passenger in a vehicle that was fired upon from one or more suspects in another vehicle, police said. The driver was not injured.

Anyone with any information regarding the shooting was urged to LAPD’s Valley Bureau detectives at 818-374-9550 or, during non-business hours or weekends, at 877-527-3247. Anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or sent to lacrimestoppers.org.
