LA Marathon: Freeway ramps and streets closed for the race

The 38th Los Angeles Marathon on March 19, sponsored by Asics, unfolds between its starting line at Dodger Stadium to its finish line in Century City, and numerous freeway ramps and streets will be closed.

The finish line has a slight change this year due to construction of a new Metro Station in Century City.  Participants will not round the corner from Santa Monica Boulevard onto Avenue of the Stars, as in past years, but run across the finish line on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Here are the freeway ramps and street closures to be aware of on March 18-19. Motorists should anticipate delays, plan ahead and choose alternate routes.

The Freeways

Caltrans is scheduled to close the following freeway ramps and turn lanes of US Route 101, State Route-110 and Interstate 405 on from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 19. Closures may start or end later. For real time freeway traffic information, go to the Caltrans Quickmap: quickmap.dot.ca.gov/

Northbound SR-110

– Temple Street off-ramp

– Hill Street/Stadium Way off-ramp

Southbound SR-110

– Figueroa Street/Sunset Boulevard off-ramp

– Stadium Way off-ramp

– Hill Street off-ramp

Northbound US-101

– Spring Street off-ramp

– Grand Avenue off-ramp

– Glendale Boulevard/Echo Park Avenue off-ramp

– Sunset/Hollywood boulevards off-ramp

– Left-turn lane of Gower Street off-ramp

– Right-turn lane of Highland Avenue off-ramp

Southbound US-101

– Broadway off-ramp

– Temple off-ramp

– Sunset/Hollywood boulevards off-ramp

– Right-turn lane of Gower Street

– Right-turn lane of Vine Street

– Highland Avenue off-ramp

– Academy Road off-ramp to Amador Street on-ramp lane closure

Northbound I-405

– Westbound Wilshire Boulevard off-ramp

Southbound I-405

– Left-turn land of Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp

– Wilshire Boulevard off-ramp
