The Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club, in collaboration with Forest Lawn-Glendale, has set up their “Field of Honor” display of 1,000 American flags that symbolically honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces and also deceased veterans who served at any time at home or abroad.

The display will be up 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through May 29, Memorial Day.

Two ceremonies will take place on May 29 at Forest Lawn-Glendale. The Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club’s program is at 11 a.m. on a stage, and the Forest Lawn-Glendale program is at 1 p.m. near the Little Church of the Flowers.

The public may sponsor a flag for $50, and have a tag with a name of an honoree attached. Proceeds from flag sales go to community programs including veterans programs supported by Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club.

Flags may be purchased on the club’s “Field of Honor” website or at the booth on site. Flags may be picked up  8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on May 30. Check the schedule for flag purchase times: www.glendalefieldofhonor.com/copy-of-about

The dramatic display of flags is at the entrance to Forest Lawn-Glendale, 1712 S. Glendale Ave., Glendale. www.forestlawn.com. Details on Memorial Day events at area Forest Lawn locations, forestlawn.com/all-events/
