Power will be restored to 28 homes in Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills as early as Friday, a Southern California Edison spokesperson told LAist.

How it’ll work: Gabriela Ornelas, a spokesperson for the utility company, said the company is working on energizing circuits. While some of the 28 homes will have power immediately restored, others will have to work with the utility company for additional inspections of the electric equipment in their homes so power can be restored in the coming days.

The homes are located in the western area of Rancho Palos Verdes and the northernmost area of Rolling Hills.

What about the rest of the homes: Over 200 homes in the Palos Verdes Peninsula are still without power after accelerated land movement in the last few months destabilized power lines.

Ornelas said while SCE has identified some areas to restore power to, they are “continuing to explore additional solutions for other parts of the peninsula as we have been since the situation started.”

Resources for residents still without power:

  • Those who use electricity for medical equipment may qualify for batteries to power their medical devices. Residents can check SCE Marketplace for available rebates.
  • Some residents may be eligible for a rentable battery or a rebate to use towards a battery or portable generator. For more information, visit SCE’s Customer Resources and Support website.
