The weather menu for Orange County as we roll into New Year’s weekend includes clouds, rain, a chance of thunderstorms and highs in the low to mid-60s.
A coastal flood advisor remains in effect for Orange County beach communities through 2 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, as weather systems and increased tides bring bigger waves to west-facing beaches.
The Nationa Weather Service forecast Friday evening calls for partly cloudy skies becoming mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers overnight and lows in the low 50s.

On Saturday, there will be a 90% chance of rain with a slight chance of thunderstorms and highs in the low 60s. It will be mostly cloudy Saturday evening with a 20% chance of showers and lows in the high 40s to low 50s.
It will be mostly cloudy Sunday morning, becoming partly cloudy by the afternoon with highs in the low 60s. There will be a slight chance of showers Sunday evening and a 40% chance into Monday — New Year’s Day — with lows in the mid- to upper 40s.
On New Year’s Day, it will be partly cloudy with a chance of showers and highs in the low to mid-60s. It will be mostly clear Monday night with lows in the mid- to upper 40s.
It will be mostly sunny Tuesday with highs in the low 60s at the beaches and low to mid-60s inland. It will be partly cloudy Tuesday night with lows around 50.
Showers are likely again on Wednesday with highs in the low 60s.
