WaBa Grill is testing an item it calls Boom Boom Tacos at 14 locations across Southern California.
They are available with chicken, steak or shrimp topped with slaw and creamy aioli, according to a news release from the Anaheim Hills-based chain. They are wrapped in a tortilla made with a blend of flour and corn.
WaBa Grill is known for its rice bowls, plates and salads with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.
The test will determine whether tacos remain on the menu, the news release said.
Prices are $2.39 to $3.49 for single tacos and $6.99 to $9.99 for trios.
