The annual NAMM Show will be back to its full pre-pandemic programming at the Anaheim Convention Center on Jan. 25-28, 2024.
Producers of the convention, which typically sees more than 100,000 musicians, instrument makers, sellers, buyers, educators and more from all over the world, announced the event will return to its usual dates and capacity in mid-to-late January. This follows a virtual event in 2021, a vastly scaled back in-person event in June 2022 and about a half-capacity in-person return in April 2023, that also coincided with weekend one of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio.
While it’s a large-scale convention, it’s not open to the general public. However, there are several off-site concerts that take place during the convention, like the She Rocks Awards at House of Blues Anaheim and the annual “Dimebag” Darrel Dimebash, which in the past took over the Observatory in Santa Ana as a ticketed show that included performances by members of Foo Fighters, Anthrax, Stone Sour and more.
During the multiday convention, there are dozens of concerts by a myriad of musicians and famous artists in the crowd like Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney, Elton John and Lady Gaga, who have been known to pop by for quick performances or to check out and demo the latest technology in the industry.
There are workshops, exhibits, educational panels, award shows, meet-and-greets and so many fun instruments and gadgets to play with on the convention floor from familiar brands like Fender, Ibanez, Martin & Co., Taylor, Yamaha, Casio, Gretsch, Harman, Shure and tons more.
