Fire Station #71 comes to aid of Fairhaven Memorial Park
Firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority, Santa Ana division, came to a different kind of rescue recently.
After learning that the American flag at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana had broken loose from the flagpole during high winds, the crew from Station #71 came to help. Using their truck and ladder, they were able to reach the top of the flagpole, replace the broken clip and reattach the flag.

Biggest turnout yet for Congressional App Challenge
Fullerton students earned recognition at the 2022 Congressional App Challenge, which encourages students to learn to code and create and submit original apps.
Teams from Parks Junior High School walked away with the top honors for seventh and eighth grade student submissions, and Fisler School students were runners-up for the sixth grade submissions.
Among elementary school submissions, The Squeaky Clean app from Acacia School placed first in originality; Be Healthy from Fisler School placed first in visual design; Calmness from Fisler School placed first in user functionality; and E-draw from Fisler School placed first in Coding.
Additional schools participating and receiving recognition include Maple, Beechwood, Laguna Road, Hermosa Drive, Richman, Pacific Drive, Orangethorpe and Nicolas Junior high schools.
California’s 39th Congressional District received the highest number of submissions for any congressional office – 192 submissions from students in middle or high school and more than 500 submissions for the added elementary school division. In all, over 1,900 students in grades 2 through 8 in Fullerton School District participated in the challenge this year.

Roosters Foundation helps with meals for OC residents
