Students at St. Mary’s School put some sweat equity into an effort to build community and help their school.
More than $58,000 was raised during the Aliso Viejo school’s 23rd jog-a-thon on the athletic fields, beating a $30,000 goal.
Money raised will go to programs and equipment in the school’s athletic department.
Students in early preschool through 8th grade gathered pledges and ran or walked with their peers.
“We hope that the students and our commentary enjoy coming together and building a little sweat equity for their school”, said Heather Wilkins, Director of marketing and Communications and a track coach at the school.
“We hope the students learn to have fun running and support their school at the same time”.
St. Mary’s School is an independent International Baccalaureate school in Aliso Viejo that serves more than 700 students.
