Polly’s Pies has created a unique burger for its Long Beach restaurant to support an annual fundraiser in that city: Long Beach Burger Week.
The Placentia-based chain calls it a Burger Hand Pie, and this year it decided to serve the item in all of its restaurants for eight days, Sunday, July 23 through July 30.
The handheld pie is made with the same crust that Polly’s uses for its other pies, sprinkled with sesame seeds. Inside is hamburger and cheese. The condiments are baked in.
“We already mixed in the ketchup and the mustard,” said Jacklyn Mitosinka, director of brand. “You don’t even need any dipping.”
The Burger Hand Pie costs $5 each or $19.99 for a takeout package of five, according to a news release.
