Newport-Mesa Unified doesn’t let storm dampen first day of school

After the weekend’s visit by Tropical Storm Hilary, it was a soggy first day of school on Monday, but that didn’t dampen spirits.

Newport-Mesa Unified schools welcomed students back for a new year of learning.

Across the community parents marked the moment with first day of school photos. At campuses friends reunited after the summer break, teachers welcomed their new learners and then it was time to hit the books.
