A man was shot by deputies at Lake Forest apartment complex on Sunday, while two women were found with stab wounds, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responding to reports of a stabbing arrived shortly after 12:15 p.m. at a complex in the 21000 block of Osterman Road to find a woman who appeared to have been stabbed several times outside of an apartment, Sgt. Frank Gonzalez said.
The deputies were directed to a specific apartment unit, where they made contact with a man, Gonzales said. The sergeant said “an officer involved shooting occurred,” and the man was shot and injured.
Authorities have released few details about the police shooting, including whether the man was armed or threatening any deputies or civilians.
The deputies found a second woman inside the apartment, also suffering from stab wounds, Gonzalez said.
The conditions of the man and two women were not immediately clear.
All three were treated at the scene, Gonzalez said, and least one of them was taken to a hospital.
The sergeant said he could not immediately confirm whether the man shot by deputies is believed responsible for the injuries to either of the women.
And it was not immediately clear whether any of them lived in the apartment complex where the stabbings and police shooting apparently took place.
