It’s officially the Year of the Dragon.
The Little Saigon community’s popular Tết parade — hosted again this year by the city of Westminster — saw boisterous and colorful celebrations on Saturday, Feb. 10, as floats, marching bands and lion dancers made their way down the parade route.
The parade brings thousands to revel in the celebrations each year — and even more people around the world watch its broadcast online.
The Tết parade, the city notes, celebrates the Lunar New Year as well as the Vietnamese communities in Orange County.
And in nearby Garden Grove, intricate and vibrant floral displays adorned the festivities during the second annual Flower Street festival, a two-day affair on Historic Main Street.
The event, with games and lion dances, was modeled after the Nguyen Hue Flower Street festival in Vietnam and continues Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
