American presidents were celebrated Monday at the birthplace of the country’s 37th leader.
Crowds turned out for the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum’s annual Presidents Day celebration in Yorba Linda, which featured a quintet of American leaders from throughout history.
Actors portraying George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant and Dwight D. Eisenhower were there to discuss the five presidencies and answer questions, as well as take photos with visitors.
One of the actors, Gary Beard, was recognized during the program in the presidential library’s replica East Room for his 25 years of bringing Washington to life for visitors. Beard has never missed a Presidents Day at the Nixon Library, including during the coronavirus lockdowns when he appeared via Zoom.
