Ever crave a sweet treat but don’t want to commit to an entire cake or giant pie? Jars by Fabio Viviani aims to rethink dessert by putting gourmet, single-serve desserts in convenient jars.
The chain’s flagship store in Chicago opened recently, but Orange County was on the top of Viviani and his partners’ minds for franchising.
“Southern California was an immediate target for us when we started franchising,” said Viviani in a statement. “This concept fills a void in the dessert category, and the vibrant, active community of Laguna Niguel is going to fall in love with it.”
The first Orange County location will open at 27981 Greenfield Drive in Laguna Niguel some time this fall or winter. But it’s just the first of many Southern California locations planned with a vision to expand to over 500 locations nationwide.
Other Southern California communities targeted for locations listed on the company’s website include Irvine, Costa Mesa, Orange, Tustin, Buena Park, Brea, Cerritos, Fullerton, Huntington Beach, Placentia and Corona del Mar.
Signature flavors crafted by Viviani available at the Chicago location are Chocolate S’mores, Fabio’s Tiramisu, French Vanilla Cake, Salted Caramel Pecan Pie, Tres Leches Cake and more. Limited edition jars, soft serve and crafted hot chocolate also always available.
Fans of the popular cooking competition “Top Chef” may recognize Viviani as a contestant on the show’s fifth season in 2008; he returned in 2010 for the “Top Chef: All Stars” season. Viviani partnered with local couple Colt and Bethany Nelms, who are first-time franchisees.
