Armed with a menu created by chef Konstantine “Dino” Marougas, who oversaw the kitchens of Kentro Greek Kitchen and Louks Greek Baby Donuts, Pita GR, a fast-casual Greek street food spot will open its second location, this one in Brea. Along with a menu featuring beef-lamb gyros, souvlakis, and lamb pie, the restaurant will offer free lunch on opening day.
On Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., diners can select a pita with fries or a salad from a select menu, along with a beverage, for no cost.
Prices will apply to regular menu items, which, among a vast array of dishes, include a sweet potato pita (roasted sweet potato, crispy garbanzos, halloumi cheese, pickled red onion, cabbage salad, kalamata olives and feta), street-style pitas (which come with choice of meat, tzatziki, tomato, red onion and fries wrapped in a warm pita), pork salad, fries, and more. Also of note, the frozen Greek yogurt topped with either crumbled baklava or wildflower honey.
Guests can also order hefty to-go items, like a full rotisserie lamb shoulder ($54) or the Spartan feat ($92) that includes six lamb chops, six pork skewers, six chicken skewers, fries, zucchini chips, salad, sips, and pitas. Phew.
