A dangerous TikTok trend that encourages riders on Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout to break the rules in order to increase airtime on the drop tower ride has forced Disneyland to issue a safety warning at Disney California Adventure.
The new warnings posted on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout are due to a recent TikTok trend of improperly securing seatbelts on the attraction, according to Disneyland officials.

Disney California Adventure has recently had multiple incidents of unsafe guest behavior on Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout, according to Disneyland officials.
Guests who don’t follow the safety protocols reminding riders to keep seatbelts securely fastened and tight against the waist will be asked to leave the park, according to Disneyland officials.

The actions of a few “stupid” visitors blindly following social media influencers could endanger other riders, according to MiceChat.
“The stupid actions of some guests have resulted in a safety crackdown by the Disneyland Resort,” according to MiceChat. “You’ll see all sorts of things on social media these days, but blindly following an influencer to do potentially dangerous things can hurt more than just yourself.”
Riders experience several moments of weightlessness during the drop sequences on the Mission: Breakout attraction.
The 199-foot-tall elevator drop tower attraction takes riders on a comical and thrilling ride with visual effects and music from the film franchise’s soundtrack. The 2004 Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride was rethemed with a Guardians backstory in 2017.
