Detectives asked the public for information that could shed light in the slaying of a Long Beach man whose body was found burned on a road in Anaheim Hills earlier this week.
Authorities identified the man as 35-year-old Robert Winner. They have not revealed the cause of death.
A man used a phone outside a fire station and reported a small fire in the 8700 block of East Santa Ana Canyon Road on Tuesday, said Sgt. Jon McClintock, spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department.
Police and Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel who headed to the area around 4 a.m. and discovered Winner’s body.
Investigators believe the killer or killers left the area in a vehicle but don’t have a description of the people involved or the vehicle.
Detectives want to talk to anyone who was on Santa Ana Canyon Road or the 91 on April 9 between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.
The motive behind the killing is still unknown.
