Cal State Fullerton graduate Laura Fong credits the President’s Scholarship Program for contributing to the “full and rich experience” she had during her four years attending Cal State Fullerton.
The 2018 CSUF graduate also credits the generosity of donors who contributed to the Scholarship Program for providing the opportunity to “enjoy four of some of the best years” and making “lifelong friends.”
Fong, now an alumni engagement and student transitions manager at Biola University, saw CSUF’s annual day of giving, #TitansGive, as her opportunity to make her own donation to the President’s Scholarship Program.
“I give back to the program that gave so much to me at a pivotal point of my life,” Fong said. “I am so grateful to Cal State Fullerton for providing and cultivating an environment where I could both explore and define who I am today.”
The annual #TitansGive day is the one day each year when the CSUF community comes together to raise money for campus and student programs, clubs, scholarships, athletic teams and a variety of other causes.
The Fourth Annual #TitansGive day is March 8, and Grace Johnson, the Associate Director of Annual Campaigns and University Advancement, has spent months organizing #TitansGive, ensuring each participating group gets their message out to prospective donors.
“That has really been the success of it,” said Johnson, who has been involved with #TitansGive from the beginning. “What has been so special about the day of giving is that this is an opportunity where we have created a website and we’ve provided the tools for all these areas to do fundraising … and really use their word of mouth to connect with their donors and their friends and families to encourage donations for which areas they are trying to get support. That is really how it grows.”
