The Anaheim City Council will have an informational workshop on Tuesday going over plans for changes to the Disneyland Resort.
The proposal on the table, called DisneylandForward, won’t add to the resort’s existing footprint. But the plan would give Disney more flexibility to add attractions, hotels and restaurants in areas where they can’t currently. The city council is expected to vote on DisneylandForward later this year.
Details about a development agreement between Disney and the city are expected to be disclosed at Tuesday’s meeting. Development agreements protect an area from future zoning changes for typically some sort of return.
The development would mostly occur at the eastern and western edges of the 500-acre resort and where its large parking lot is nearby on Harbor Boulevard. Disney has shown new uses could include new theme park and entertainment areas and a new parking garage.
At a planning commission workshop in October, many residents and business leaders spoke positively of the project, but some were concerned about traffic and said the city needs more housing to accommodate a surplus of workers.
The City Council workshop begins at 3 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd.
