Bello (Newport Beach): Chef/owner Sandro Nardone’s Italian eatery, ranked No. 7 on our 75 best restaurants in Orange County list, goes all out for the new year with a menu featuring caviar and a forest’s worth of umami-rich truffles. His New Year’s Eve menu includes white truffle raviolo San Domenico that runs $80; black tea-baked potato with pecorino, caviar and black truffle for $72; gnocchi ai quattro formaggi (a cheese-laced gnocchi with loads of black pepper and black truffle) at $62; crudo di tonno rosso (bluefin tuna crudo with black truffle ponzu, orange, whipped cheese and sage) for $32; and crostada di mele rosa al tartufo blanco (a white truffle and apple tart with caramelized white chocolate, matcha and pistachio) at $42. 1200 Bison Ave., #C2, Newport Beach
The Loft at Montage (Laguna Beach): Kicking off its tasting menu for New Year’s Eve with Kumamoto Oysters in a champagne-cucumber mignonette, the Loft at Montage, the seaside resort in Laguna Beach, will offer a four-course menu featuring such highlights as sea urchin waffle with melted leek and horseradish crème fraîche, truffled chicken dumpling soup, king crab spaghetti, New York wagyu strip steak and lobster frites thermidor.
