A Woodland Hills midcentury-modern home with ties to Mark Ballas of “Dancing With the Stars” fame and his wife, the singer Brittany “BC Jean” Carlson, is on the market for $2.649 million.
Kaz Nomura, a draftsman with the architectural firm of A. Quincy Jones and Frederick E. Emmons designed this 2,800-square-foot house. Completed in 1965 and updated, it has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and sits on a quarter-acre cul-de-sac lot.
Glass walls create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.
Inside the house, the dining room and living area are combined in an open floor plan featuring skylights, vaulted wood-beam ceilings, clerestory windows and a concrete fireplace.
A large island in the updated kitchen provides abundant workspace and storage.
The primary suite features a renovated bathroom and a large walk-in closet.
Apart from the primary house, a guest structure with a bathroom can accommodate guests or serve as a workspace. Outside amenities include a pool and spa, an outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill and refrigerator, a dining patio and a fire pit in the fenced-in backyard.
An owner-owned solar system powers the house.
Anthony Paradise and Sophia Germano of Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing.
PropertyShark.com shows Ballas and Carlson, through a trust, purchased the house for $2.55 million on June 12. The following day, the couple transferred the property into a revocable living trust.
Ballas, 39, is (among other things) a professional ballroom dancer and three-time “Dancing with the Stars” champion. He announced his retirement from the dance competition TV series in March during the final stop on the DWTS tour in Las Vegas.
In 2016, Ballas married the singer-songwriter Carlson. The 38-year-old is best known for writing the song “If I Were a Boy,” made famous by Beyonce.
The couple have made music as the indie pop duo Alexander Jean since 2015.
