Malibu Chili Cook-Off: The 41st event includes the cook-off (meat or vegan options; malibuchilicookoff.org/chili-faqs), carnival rides and games and the Johnny Strange Legacy skateboard contest, Sept. 1-4. Hours: 4-10 p.m. Sept. 1; 1-10 p.m. Sept. 2-3; 1-8 p.m. Sept. 4. Admission to the event $40 (admission is by online purchase only; no admission sold at the door). Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture – Para Sa Lahat – For Everyone: The two-day festival begins with “A Nostalgic Musical Journey,” 6-10 p.m. Sept. 1.
