Detectives are still looking for the assailant who fatally shot one man and wounded a second man in a Norwalk parking lot earlier this month.
The two were in a car in the 10600 block of Firestone Boulevard when the shooting happened around 6:40 p.m. on Dec. 2., Sheriff’s Lt. Omar Camacho said. Investigators don’t know if the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle.
Frank Perez Jr, 21, of Los Angeles died from a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the medical examiner’s office. Detectives believe he was the passenger.
The driver, who was shot multiple times, ran to the nearby Target, Camacho said.
Deputies saw Perez dead in the vehicle. While there, they were told of a second gunshot victim in the store. They found him on the floor. He was taken to a hospital.
Perez’s family could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to lacrimestoppers.org
