Authorities were searching near Mulholland Drive on Saturday evening for a small, single-engine aircraft after it apparently lost contact with air traffic control, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Crews had been searching the mountainous, foggy terrain before identifying an emergency beacon signal that was sent in the area around Beverly Glen Terrace and Beverly Glen Boulevard.
In its latest update, LAFD said it will release further information “if and when an aircraft is located.”
