Fans of Panda Express have the chance to book a five-course meal at its location near UCLA if they move fast enough.
The Rosemead-based chain is transforming its quick-service restaurant at 2011 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles into what a news release describes as an “elevated dining destination” for two nights, Feb. 13-14, to promote the return of Firecracker Shrimp to the menu.
Guests can book one of two seatings each night, 6 and 8 p.m., by going to pandaexpressreservations.com at 3 p.m. PST today, Jan. 31, the news release said. About 200 tickets will be available, the news release said.
Promotions like this usually fill up with blinding speed.
The cost is $38 per person and the prix fixe menu will be served family-style. It includes:
Amuse bouche and a welcome drink inspired by Panda Crafted Beverages.
Bread Service: Chinese doughnut, burrata with honey, sesame seed, chili crisp and scallion, and a side of cilantro jalapeno relish.
Appetizer: Mongolian beef sandwich made with shaved rib eye, topped with a cheese sauce and onions served with a side of lotus root and yam chips.
Main Course: Firecracker Shrimp, served with quinoa brown fried rice and an eggplant tofu side.
Dessert: “Tea’ramisu” made with chiffon cake, milk tea, mascarpone whipped cream.
The experience will be offered at one other location in New York City, Third Avenue and 51st Street, Feb. 16-17.
Introduced in 2020, Firecracker Shrimp is wok-fried with vegetables and Sichuan flavors.
